This picture is the definition of "Arachnophobia". No one told me that when I was moving to the mountains to enjoy the mountain air, the trees, the colors of the leaves in the fall, and to watch out for the gigantic house guest with eight legs! If someone had, perhaps my reaction to this enormous creature would have been a little more subdued than a screaming thirty year old huddled on the edge of the coffee table telling her husband to get the shot gun.
After 25 years in the Navy Jim, the husband, finally retired. We found ourselves in the small town of Otto, North Carolina living next door to his parents. With three beautiful little girls that are coming into their own, everyday is an adventure in this house!

New stats bar
Apparently, I am dependent upon what other people think of me. I continuously check my blogger stats, the comments on my facebook posts, even the comments on my tweets. I am obsessed with what the world thinks of me as well. Today I checked my blogger stats and I have one view from the Netherlands. ONLY ONE. Instead of being like a normal human being and going "cool someone from the Netherlands has seen my site" I am the freak-a-zoid that says to herself "whats wrong with me? how come I only have ONE view from the Netherlands? What is so wrong about my family and antics that there is only one person in the Netherlands who has seen my site?"
Of course, it does not occur to me that perhaps they were just skimming through the sites and just clicking next blog, it also does not occur to me that perhaps this person doesn't even speak or read english. (Do they speak english in the Netherlands?) And maybe, just maybe, there is only ONE person in the Netherlands with internet access so the whole country gets together to check blogs and maybe just that ONE view on my page had more than 500 people looking instead.
Hmmm...perhaps.

The Enjoyment of Netflix
For those of you that do not know I am a total movie lover. Netflix of course has them all, I can stream movies and get a DVD if I so choose. I think that I love the Netflix movies so much simply because I am lazy and would much rather sit at home to watch as many movies as I want for 9.95 a month then to drive to the theater, pay a sitter, and twelve dollars to see the stupid thing. So anyway, sitting at home with a $500 movie machine (PS3) to stream movies and the 10 bucks each month is a blessing in disguise I suppose. Plus, I get to watch all of those HBO and Showtime series that I refuse to purchase on my satellite program because I am also what some would call cheap. ($15 bucks a month just for HBO? That is just ridiculous.)
I said all of that just to tell you this. I have found two new shows that I like to watch (with the kids in bed of course, this IS HBO, soft porn I guess you could call it.) True Blood and the other show is Dexter (not so much porn in that show.)
So, go get yourself a PS3 and a Netflix subscription and chill at the house with me. OH and if you do not have a PS3 but are looking for a Blue Ray player for the HDTV you have at the house. Look no further, the PS3 also plays Blue Rays and regular DVDs. The best investment we have made all year.

New Netbook
I got my new netbook yesterday, I am totally excited. I finally got it all setup and ready to rock and roll with blogging and writing my novel. (Apparently, I have been writing this book for about four years and haven't gotten past chapter one. I am not THAT good of a writer, or maybe the story line isn't that great. One day I will post a preview of it and you can tell me what you think.) So, updates to come out soon!

The terrible thing is...
I am a bad blogger. We have been so very busy, yet not really, for the longest time that I can't even remember the last time I put a post out. Since I work on a computer all day long the last thing I want to do is come home to a computer (or a phone for that matter. Customer Service SUCKS!)
Jim was fired from his FIRST job in over 30 years yesterday. It was a new experience for him so he is at home playing video games and enjoying the first week off. Wait until I get ahold of him next week with about an inch long stack of "Honey do" list papers. Just because he doesn't have a paid job doesn't mean that he can skip out on work. I would have to say that THIS is the perfect revenge for me being in Virginia, working full time, going to school full time, and taking care of three kids, all by myself with Jim in Iraq playing war games. Now he gets to experience the real stay-at-home Dad experience, "I'm hungry. I have to pee. The dog pooped on the floor. She has my toy. She pulled my hair".
I promise to catch you guys all up on our family in the next couple of days.

Geocaching 5/16/2010
This one I found with a couple friends.
Tassee Bridge, another cache to find but this time I went alone. There was this old man hanging around the cache for about 20 minutes without moving on. Finally he left and I grabbed it.
First find of the day today. It was fairly simple, nothing to trade.
First guardrail find. I have yet to find a guardrail that I enjoyed. I hate guardrails!
This was a pill bottle that was hanging from some pine trees. Pretty cool.
This one was outside of Home Depot. Pretty easy cache.
This one was definitely the coolest of the day. Dropped a couple travel bugs in this one.
Here is the open container.
Last find of the day. All were pretty simple.

Urgent Care...Oxymoron. Happy Mothers Day to me.
So I have been sickly the last few days, difficulty swallowing, swollen tonsils, congestion. Last night was the last straw I couldn't sleep with a raging headache and I couldn't breath. It was time to see a doctor. So this morning I get up, shower and show up at a place called "Urgent Care". After an hour they finally call my name JUST TO CHECK IN. I watched child after child walk out of the office announcing that they had "Strep Throat". I started to sweat a little, what if I had strep? Oh God, I don't have time to be sick with three kids, work, a broken husband who is about as useful as a 2 year old right now. Finally, they call my name and I go sit in the little room with all of the crazy scary instruments for yet another hour before I get a work up. Good news, I do not have strep. Bad news, I have tonsillitis. I got some meds and was sent home for "rest". Yeah right, rest. Once again, Happy Mothers Day!

Geocaching 05/02/2010
Sunday marked the Ten year anniversary of Geocaching and I was able to attend an event for it. I had to get up at 0445 to make it there for the breakfast at 0730 in Asheville. It was a long drive about an hour and a half but I have made it many times before. I had a great time meeting all of these, strange, addicted, cachers. Most of them were way more experienced than me but that is ok, they welcomed me like a moth to a flame! ha ha.
On the way home I had plotted out some caches to grab. We found a total of 11 and only DNF (Did Not Find) two which brought my total found to 20 caches. Pretty amazing to me since I am such a newb and have only gone about 5 times total.
Here is the cache, interesting because it is a military decontamination kit.
Here is the group picture of everyone that was there. Made some good friends here and I am excited about meeting more at other events. I am also thinking about hosting an event closer to home to meet and greet more cachers.

I got an arrow head and I left them a stuffed puppy.
I hate rail road tracks, they frighten me. Luckily the cache was located far away from these tracks, we just had to walk next to them for a bit.

Easy find on this one, painted altoids can.
Another easy find, it also gave me a chance to check the air in my tires.
This one the animals had gotten too because there was rice in the container which seemed to be a good idea to keep the moisture away but people forget animals like rice too.
Yet another easy find in Dillsboro.
Do you see it? I think I leaned against this post for about 20 minutes before I realized where it was.
